RESIDENTIAL EXTENSION MONTREAL
Outremont, Montreal, Quebec
In collaboration with Pelleter de Fontenay
Project designed 2018
Under construction
A private dwelling designed for an ex-ballerina and neurosurgeon seeking a tranquil, light-filled escape from the bustling city. The project is an alteration and addition to a traditional Montreal terrace, including the opening up of living spaces to the garden and the addition of an airy Master bedroom and bathroom retreat on the second floor.
The original floor plan was reconfigured to better connect living, dining, and kitchen areas, creating a more cohesive and flowing home.
A light, airy atmosphere was achieved through soft timber finishes, sheer curtains, playful bookshelves, skylights, and subtle ceiling patterns. The exterior was softened from red brick to bagged white render, with carefully considered brick patterning adding texture and visual interest.
